Behavioral Health Nurse Manager
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Manager to oversee nursing operations within our client's behavioral health department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for psychiatric nursing, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership : Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff within the behavioral health department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
Patient Assessment and Care : Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with mental health and substance use disorders, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate the delivery of appropriate interventions and treatments, including medication management, therapeutic interventions, and crisis intervention.
Staff Supervision : Supervise and support nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants, through mentorship, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration : Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, address complex medical and psychosocial needs, and promote positive treatment outcomes.
Quality Improvement : Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory standards, and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of behavioral health services.
Education and Training : Develop and implement educational programs and training initiatives for nursing staff on topics related to psychiatric nursing, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed care, and other relevant areas.
Safety and Risk Management : Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and addressing safety concerns in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in New Jersey.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred
Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles, psychotropic medications, therapeutic modalities, and crisis intervention techniques
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced hospital environment
_Please note- The annual base salary range is $100k to $115k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer._
